Invasion of soybean roots six days after inoculation by SCN race 3. Peking is resistant to SCN race 3, while Kent is susceptible.  Notice the swelling of SCN in susceptible cv. Kent roots compared to the thinner SCN present in resistant cv. Peking roots, suggesting that SCN in Kent can feed well, while SCN in Peking cannot feed readily and are not growing as quickly.
